Casabase Cube 4.0.0

Release: 4.0.0
Release type: Major
Released: August 10, 2026
Platform: Snowflake Native App

Casabase Cube 4.0.0 introduces significant enhancements to formulas, time-series analysis, attribute dimensions, query performance, calculation behavior, security, and auditing.

Formula validation and processing have been enhanced to identify formula errors earlier and provide clearer error messages.

Formula-heavy cubes also benefit from improved query performance.

Casabase Cube now supports dynamic cumulative-to-date calculations, including:

  • Year-to-Date (YTD)
  • Quarter-to-Date (QTD)
  • Half-Year-to-Date (HTD)

Dynamic Time Series members calculate automatically as periods change, reducing the need to maintain separate formulas for cumulative period calculations.

Dynamic Time Series supports both flow and balance account behavior.

Casabase Cube now supports attribute hierarchies for adding secondary classifications to base dimensions.

For example, a Product dimension can be associated with attributes such as:

Color
Size
Product Type

Attribute members can be used independently or together with members of their associated base dimension, providing additional ways to analyze cube data.

This release includes performance improvements for multidimensional queries, particularly for larger cubes and complex analytical workloads.

No changes to existing queries or cube configuration are required to benefit from these improvements.

Casabase Cube now provides enhanced support for authored solve orders, allowing calculations to respect the intended calculation precedence during multidimensional queries.

This improves compatibility with Oracle Essbase ASO applications and provides more predictable results when multiple calculated members interact.

Row-level security now supports two enforcement modes for secured hierarchies:

Mode Behavior
EXCLUDE Restricted members are excluded from results. Rollups contain values only from members the user is authorized to access.
MASK A rollup returns #NOACCESS when it includes restricted data.

These modes give administrators greater control over how secured data is represented in multidimensional query results.

Casabase Cube 4.0.0 expands auditing across application operations.

Audit coverage includes activities such as:

  • Hierarchy changes
  • Data loads
  • Formula changes
  • Security changes
  • Configuration changes

Audit records provide administrators with information about application activity, including the user, timestamp, operation, and outcome.

Version 4.0.0 is a major release.

Customers upgrading from an earlier version should review formulas, security configuration, and other cube settings after the upgrade to confirm that existing models behave as expected with the new capabilities.
